Our annual Swim*A*Thon is the Forestbrooke Athletic Club’s largest annual pool fundraiser – and the most fun!!! We gather for a full day of swimming with the goal of completing a collective 100 miles. Our swim and dive team will finish the last lap together, roughly 10 hours later. Our goal this year is to raise $4,000 and we think we can do it! We would love your swimmer’s participation for some or all of this event.

This year’s Swimathon is Tuesday, July 16th, but follow here or our Facebook site for updated information. We welcome participants to pitch tents on the pool grounds and spend the night. On the day after, there will be a breakfast provided by team families.

It’ll be a busy day, but the pool will still be open!

DONATIONS

All Swim and Dive team members will receive a collection envelope to collect donations for the swimathon. We suggest you collect all envelope donations up front so you can turn your envelope in at the Swim*A*Thon.

You are also welcome to collect donations using our online donation platform. Please share widely!

Receipts are available for your sponsors. We are a 501(c)3 and donations are tax deductible.

FOOD

We will provide snacks and beverages for all participants throughout their day. We’ll have a barbeque on Tuesday evening for the Swim*A*Thon participants, families, and volunteers. Forestbrooke will proviide grilled hot dogs/veggie dogs, lemonade, and paper products for the event. Everyone – please bring a dish to pass!

VOLUNTEERING

This event requires all of our support. We use SignupGenius to track volunteering.  We need volunteers to work at the snack table, count laps, swim laps during the dinner break, and grill among other things.

OVERNIGHT CAMPING

All children planning to camp out overnight at the Swim*A*Thon must be supervised by a designated adult. This adult is responsible for the behavior of all children listed on the permission form and should be available to monitor the behavior of their children. The coaches and lifeguards will be involved supervising swimmers in the pool and on the deck and will not be available to supervise the campout area.

PAPERWORK

All participants will be required to have a permission slip signed by their parent/guardian in order to take part in the Swim*A*Thon. Permission slips will be sent home and will be available in the office.

The Swim*A*Thon is a long-standing tradition at Forestbrooke and one our team members look forward to each year. Thanks for your Support of this event and our Swim & Dive Team members! Please contact: Carole Metzger with questions.
